Here are a few questions I hear from my clients about Vinyl Flooring.
SHAW is a great place to start. They rank #1 in the categories of quality, service, support, price, availability, training and consumer preference. Listing all of Shaw's awards would take Ages and Pages, so trust me when I say they are the best! Did I mention we were a proud Authorized Dealer and Installer of Shaw products?
Maintenance and Durability are 2 key factors in choosing your floor. For example...Do you have kids, dogs, cats, chickens, goats or any other exotic animal? LVP is right for you! LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) is a wood look vinyl that is next generation flooring. Here in Florida it is very humid and moist...so hardwood floors & laminate are very difficult to maintain and can be pricey.
Personally, I love hand scraped textures on commercial vinyl . Textured floors tickle my feet when I slide around in my socks! Scratches and imprints are less visible and can add to the texture. If you like a shine then High Gloss floors are for you! Color variation, tints, knots, and the size of the planks are what make your floor unique. LOVE YOUR FLOORS
NOOOOOO! Vinyl can be many shapes and sizes to accommodate your own personal creativity!
The question should read...Where can vinyl flooring not be installed? It can be installed ANYWHERE! Vinyl flooring can be installed in any room in the house above or below ground level. It can also be installed over almost any type of sub floor! Leveling is obviously a key factor!
Click and Lock is a floating floor that doesn't need glue or nails to hold it in place. The labor in gluing it down is much more in cost to install and to tear up!
Thicker boards help prevent bends in the floor that can occur if the sub floor is not completely level. They also help reduce noise. Adding additional padding will absorb more sound!
ABSOLUTELY! If the damaged area is large, you can replace the individual boards either by cutting and removing, or disassembling a section of the affected floor and then installing new boards. Always keep a spare box or 3!
You need an underlayment for the absorbing of sound and even to resist moisture! Atrium VB also inhibits the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. Fantastic!
Absolutely! Most Shaw Commercial Vinyl's are lifetime residential warranties at that! But it all depends on the products!
